Big Hurt Baseball is one of those mid-90s Sega Genesis baseball games that somehow feels both janky and satisfying at the same time. You get Frank Thomas on the cover, but don't expect a full MLB roster—just a bunch of fictional teams with weirdly aggressive AI pitchers who love throwing inside fastballs.
The fielding takes some getting used to (why do outfielders move like they're stuck in molasses?), but there's something oddly addictive about the crack of the bat when you finally time a pitch right. And yeah, the announcer sounds like he's yelling through a tin can, but that's part of the charm. Pro tip: bunting is weirdly overpowered if you're into cheap wins.
It's not the deepest baseball sim out there, but if you're craving that specific era of Sega sports jank, this one's got its moments.
