Okay, so Flintston The on Sega Genesis is one of those licensed games that actually gets the vibe right. You start off as Fred, smashing rocks with that goofy caveman yell, and yeah—it feels exactly like the cartoon. The first level throws you right into Bedrock, dodging pterodactyls and jumping on those weird stone cars they drive.

It’s not just mindless platforming, though. Some levels have you switching between Fred and Barney to solve puzzles, like moving boulders or tricking dinosaurs (Barney’s weirdly good at that). The music’s got that classic Genesis chiptune sound, and the sprites are surprisingly detailed—Wilma’s hair even bounces when she runs.

Fair warning: some of the later levels get brutal. There’s this ice cave stage where the sliding physics will make you yell worse than Fred at a bowling alley. But if you grew up with the show, it’s hard not to grin when Dino shows up to help. Definitely a solid pick for fans of weird ‘90s platformers.
