Final Fantasy IV - 10th Anniversary Ed. Hack is one of those SNES mods that actually makes an already-great game even better. It’s still the same classic FFIV you remember—Cecil’s redemption arc, Kain’s backstabbing (literally), and that killer soundtrack—but with polished sprites, rebalanced classes, and some quality-of-life tweaks that smooth out the grind.
I wasn’t sure about the changes at first, but after a few hours, the tweaks just feel right. The difficulty’s a bit more forgiving early on, so you don’t get wrecked by random encounters while you’re still figuring out your party. And the updated visuals? They’re subtle—no full remaster here—but everything’s crisper, like someone dusted off an old painting.
If you’ve played FFIV before, this version’s worth revisiting. If you haven’t, it’s the best way to experience one of the SNES’s defining RPGs. Just don’t blame me when you lose track of time in the Underground.
