Final Fantasy III (Bugfix Edition Hack) is one of those SNES RPGs that just sticks with you—especially now that someone finally fixed all those weird little glitches from the original. You start off with four orphans (classic FF move) who get yeeted into saving the world after a crystal does… crystal things. The job system is where it really shines—you can switch between black mages, knights, dragoons, whatever, and the grind to unlock new classes is weirdly satisfying.
Some of the dungeons are brutal if you’re not prepared (looking at you, Crystal Tower), but the bugfixes make it way less frustrating than the original. The music’s still a banger, too—that overworld theme lives in my head rent-free. If you’ve played the DS remake, this is a totally different vibe—pixel-perfect nostalgia with just enough polish to keep it from feeling janky.
It’s not the flashiest FF, but there’s something about the way it balances old-school charm with legit strategy that keeps me coming back every few years.
