Fido Dido came out for the Sega Genesis in 1993, published by Sega itself. It was part of that wave of licensed games based on cartoon characters, trying to capture a specific look and feel for the 16-bit audience. You don't see many people talking about it now, but it was there on the shelf alongside more famous platformers.

You control Fido, the lanky character with the spiky hair, running and jumping through side-scrolling levels. The main goal is simply to get from the start of each stage to the exit. Your primary move is a strange, extendable punch that you use to hit enemies from a short distance. You also collect soda cans scattered everywhere; these act as both your health and your ammunition for throwing at foes. The game moves at a brisk pace, but the collision detection can be unforgiving, making some jumps feel more difficult than they should. Playing it feels like a slightly off-kilter take on a standard platformer, where your main weapon has a weird, rubbery physics to it.
