Fatal Fury 2 on the Genesis is one of those old-school fighters that still holds up—clunky in the best way, with that satisfying SNK weight behind every punch. You’ve got Terry Bogard’s signature Power Wave, Mai’s… well, let’s just say her animations were memorable for 10-year-old me. The AI’s brutal (looking at you, Krauser), but landing a desperation move at the last second feels so good.
It’s got that classic arcade vibe—bright colors, exaggerated special moves, and a roster where everyone plays totally different. Pro tip: Duck King’s breakdance kicks are weirdly OP if you can get the timing down. Just don’t expect fancy combos—this is pure ’90s footsies and fireball wars.
Still one of my go-tos when I want a no-frills fighter with personality. The announcer yelling "GEEEEEEEWD" after a KO never gets old.
