F-15 Strike Eagle II on the Genesis is one of those old-school flight sims that somehow makes pushing tiny pixels around feel intense. You start off picking your loadout—bombs, missiles, the usual—and then it’s straight into the cockpit with that classic green radar screen and chunky HUD. The controls take a minute to get used to (good luck landing smoothly on your first try), but once you do, dogfighting MiGs over pixelated deserts is weirdly satisfying.

It’s not as flashy as later flight games, but there’s something about the way it nails the tension of managing fuel and weapons mid-mission. Just don’t expect fancy cutscenes—this is pure, no-nonsense ’90s sim action. If you’ve got nostalgia for MicroProse’s stuff, it’s a solid time capsule.
