F-117 Night Storm on the Genesis is one of those "wait, this actually exists?" stealth flight sims from the early '90s. You're piloting the infamous Nighthawk, but don't expect fancy graphics—just jagged polygons and a whole lot of radar blips coming at you in the dark.
The first mission throws you right into it: flying low over some desert canyon while SAM sites light up the sky. The controls take a minute to click—you'll probably crash into a mountain once or twice before realizing how touchy the banking is. But once you get the hang of weaving between missiles, there's something weirdly satisfying about lining up that perfect bomb drop on a target you can barely see.
It's definitely more arcade than simulator, despite the realistic aircraft. The night vision effect (basically just a green filter) makes everything look like you're staring through an old security camera, which somehow adds to the tension. Just don't expect Ace Combat—this is pure '90s "squint at the screen and hope that pixel is an enemy" energy.
If you dig obscure military flight games or just want to see how they pulled off stealth mechanics on 16-bit hardware, it's a neat time capsule.
