Exodus – Journey To The Promised Land is one of those weird, fascinating Genesis games that makes you go, "Wait, they made a what based on the Bible?" At first glance, it looks like a standard 8-bit adventure, but then you're suddenly leading the Israelites through the desert, dodging plagues, and splitting the Red Sea with Moses. The pixel art’s surprisingly detailed—Pharaoh’s chariots actually look menacing when they’re bearing down on you.

Gameplay’s a mix of strategy and quick reflexes. One minute you’re rationing food for your people, the next you’re frantically guiding them between pillars of fire. The puzzles aren’t brutal, but some of them had me scratching my head (why won’t this bush burn properly?). And yeah, the soundtrack’s pure Genesis—synthy hymns that somehow make collecting manna feel epic.

It’s definitely niche, but if you’re into retro oddities or just want to see how the Exodus story plays as a video game, this one’s a trip. Just don’t expect it to go easy on you—Pharaoh’s army has no chill.
