About Eternal Champions (europe) (beta)
Eternal Champions was a fighting game released for the Sega Genesis in 1993, developed by Sega Interactive Development Division and published by Sega themselves. It arrived during a period when the Genesis library was diversifying, offering an alternative to the more established fighting franchises of the era.
You control one of nine fighters, each pulled from different time periods, with the objective of winning a tournament to earn a second chance at life. The game features special moves executed with quarter-circle and charge motions, an Overkill move to finish off a defeated opponent, and stage-specific fatalities called Cinekills that use the environment. Matches can feel deliberate, with a difficulty that demands precise timing for its more complex maneuvers. Landing a well-timed special move or triggering a Cikill provides a satisfying sense of control over the chaotic fight.
