About Earthworm Jim (europe)
Earthworm Jim came out for the Sega Genesis in 1994, developed by Shiny Entertainment. It was part of that wave of games on the system that leaned into weird concepts and over the top animation.
You control Jim, an earthworm in a powerful robotic suit, and your goal is to rescue Princess What's-Her-Name from the evil Queen Pulsating, Bloated, Festering, Sweaty, Pus-filled, Malformed, Slug-for-a-Butt. You move through levels screen by screen, using Jim's plasma blaster to shoot a variety of bizarre enemies. One of his signature moves is using his own worm body as a whip to swing from hooks or attack foes up close. The game is known for its high difficulty, with precise platforming required in levels like "Down the Tubes" and "Intestinal Distress." The overall feeling is chaotic and unpredictable, but pulling off a difficult section is genuinely satisfying.
