Earth Defense on the Sega Genesis is one of those classic "hold the line" shooters where you’re basically the last hope against an alien swarm. The first few minutes hit you with that old-school intensity—ships diving at you from all angles, lasers everywhere, and this weirdly satisfying *pew-pew* sound when you take them down.
You start with a basic turret, but pretty soon you’re juggling upgrades, trying to cover blind spots before the next wave crashes in. The sprites are chunky in that nostalgic way, and the music has that frantic synth beat that makes you lean forward in your chair. It’s not just mindless shooting, either—if you don’t plan your defenses, you’ll get overrun fast.
Honestly, it’s tougher than I remembered. The later levels get brutal, but there’s something about the simplicity of "protect the planet or die trying" that still hooks me. If you’ve got a Genesis lying around, dust it off for this one.
