About Dragon Ball Z - Supersonic Warriors 2 (eu)
Dragon Ball Z: Supersonic Warriors 2 came out for the Nintendo DS in 2005, developed by Arc System Works. It arrived when the DS was still new, a time of experimenting with dual screens and touch controls for many games. This was a follow up to the first Supersonic Warriors, continuing the trend of portable fighting games based on the anime.
You control a team of Dragon Ball Z characters, flying and fighting in a 2D plane against another team. The main objective is to deplete your opponent's health bar while managing your own position and special moves. Key mechanics include team assists, where your partner can jump in for a quick attack or defense, and a dramatic finisher system that lets you unleash a character's signature move when a meter is full. The game also uses the DS's top screen for the primary battle and the bottom screen for selecting special attacks or viewing team status. Matches are fast, often decided by quick reflexes and smart use of your assists. It feels immediate and chaotic, like a condensed version of the show's big fights.
