About Double Dragon V ? The Shadow Falls
Double Dragon V: The Shadow Falls came out for the Sega Genesis in 1994, published by Leland Interactive Media. It was part of that wave of fighting games that followed the arcade and home console success of titles like Street Fighter II. This one was a bit different, though, as it was based on the Double Dragon cartoon rather than the classic beat 'em up arcade games.
You control one of the Lee brothers, Billy or Jimmy, or one of several other characters from the show. The main goal is to fight through a series of one-on-one martial arts matches against a roster of villains to stop the Shadow Master. The gameplay revolves around landing special moves and combos, and you can build up a super meter to unleash a more powerful attack. The pacing is methodical, with matches that feel more strategic than the frantic brawling of the original series. It feels like a straightforward, no-frills fighter from that era.
