Donkey Kong Land Iii (prototype) Game

Donkey Kong Land III (prototype) on Game Boy is one of those weird little time capsules—it’s got that classic DK feel, but with Dixie and Kiddy Kong taking the lead instead. The first thing you’ll notice? The colors actually pop for a Game Boy game, and the music’s got that bouncy, slightly tinny charm.
You start off in this jungle level, vines everywhere, and within minutes you’re already doing that thing where you hold Dixie’s hair-spin just a little too long and overshoot a platform. The controls take a second to click, but once they do, it’s pure momentum—rolling, bouncing off enemies, grabbing those golden animal buddies that show up in weird places.
It’s tougher than it looks, too. Some of those later levels? Brutal. But in that satisfying way where you keep muttering "one more try" until your batteries run out. If you’ve got a soft spot for old-school platformers, this one’s worth dusting off the Game Boy for.
