Donkey Kong - Jungle Climber is one of those DS games that feels way more clever than it looks at first glance. You’re basically scaling walls and swinging between vines like a gorilla Tarzan, but the twist is the dual-screen climbing—you’ve gotta time your grips between the top and bottom screens, which gets surprisingly intense when bees or boulders start chasing you.
Bananas are everywhere (obviously), but the real fun comes from the weird power-ups. Grab a giant peanut, and suddenly you’re rolling through obstacles like a wrecking ball. The puzzles aren’t brain-melting, but they’re just tricky enough to make you pause mid-climb. And yeah, the controls take a second to click, but once they do, swinging around feels stupidly satisfying.
It’s not the most famous DK game, but it’s a solid little platformer with way more personality than you’d expect.
