Divine Sealing came out for the Sega Genesis in 1991, developed by Kobe. It was part of that wave of action RPGs that tried to capture the feel of exploring a large world on a 16-bit console. You control a warrior on a quest to gather the scattered pieces of a sacred seal. The game is played screen by screen; each new area loads as you move off the edge of the current one. You use a sword for close combat and a bow for attacking enemies from a distance, switching between them as the situation demands. Exploring dungeons is a central activity, where you hunt for keys and the next piece of the seal. The pacing is deliberate, and the difficulty can be unforgiving if you rush into rooms without looking. It feels like a methodical journey through a world that doesn't hold your hand.
