Disney’s The Lion King Iii Game

Okay, so Disney's The Lion King III on the Genesis is basically the movie turned into a side-scroller, but with way more hyenas than you remember. You start off as young Simba, bouncing around the Pride Lands—those vines in the jungle level still mess me up sometimes—and eventually grow into full lion mode to take on Scar.
The graphics are surprisingly bright for a Genesis game, and the music? Straight-up nostalgia. But don’t let the Disney charm fool you—some of those platforming sections are brutal. Ever tried timing a jump while a warthog barrels at you? Yeah, that’s a thing.
If you played the original back in the day, this one feels familiar but throws in a few new surprises. And if you didn’t? Well, expect to die a lot before you figure out the rhino stampede part. Still, there’s something satisfying about finally beating Scar’s smug face in the final showdown.
