Disney’s Bonkers on the Sega Genesis is pure 90s cartoon chaos—you play as Bonkers, that hyperactive bobcat cop, bouncing around Toontown like he’s had six cups of coffee. The first level throws you right into it: dodging falling anvils, hopping on trampoline mailboxes, and chasing this weird little gremlin thief who keeps cackling at you. The animation’s surprisingly smooth for a Genesis game, with that squash-and-stretch Disney style.
Some of the platforming’s a bit slippery (classic 16-bit jank), but the charm makes up for it—like when Bonkers gets flattened into a pancake by a steamroller and just shakes it off. The music’s got that bouncy, xylophone-heavy vibe that screams "Saturday morning cartoons." Not the deepest game ever, but if you miss when Disney games were weird and loud, this one’s a time capsule.
Just don’t blame me when you get the theme song stuck in your head for days.
