Digimon World DS came out for the Nintendo DS in 2006, a time when the handheld was full of RPGs trying new things. You manage a farm where your recruited monsters live and train, which is crucial for their evolution into stronger forms. The pacing can be deliberate, as evolving your Digimon requires meeting specific conditions, and some of the later dungeons present a real challenge. It feels like a slow, steady project of building your own digital army from the ground up.
