I first played Dial Q O Mawase on the Sega Genesis back in 1992; it was one of those lesser known titles published by Sega. It came out during a time when the Genesis library was expanding with all sorts of experimental games, and this one definitely stood out for its strange concept. You don't see many games built around a telephone dial.

You control a character who uses a telephone to summon objects and creatures to solve puzzles and fight enemies. The main goal is to navigate through a series of single screen rooms, clearing each one to progress. Your primary tools are the items you dial up; you input codes on the phone keypad to materialize things like bombs or helper characters directly into the stage. Combat is indirect, relying on what you summon to attack for you, and the pacing is methodical as you figure out the right code for each situation. It feels like a slow, thoughtful puzzle game where your success hinges on remembering or discovering the correct sequences.
