Daisenpuu – Twin Hawk is one of those classic shooters that feels like it was designed to eat your quarters in an arcade—except it's on the Genesis. You hop into a fighter jet, and right away, the screen fills with enemy planes, tanks, and those little bullet patterns that make you weave like you're threading a needle. The power-ups are simple but satisfying—call in a squadron of backup planes, and suddenly you're a tiny air force.
It's got that old-school difficulty where you'll probably crash into something dumb on your first run, but once you get the rhythm, dodging feels great. The bosses are chunky, screen-filling monsters that take way too many bullets to kill (in a good way). If you've played any Toaplan shooters, this one's right up your alley—just don't expect to beat it without a few continues.
Honestly, it's not the deepest shmup out there, but there's something about the way it throws chaos at you that makes it hard to put down.
