Combat Cars is that weird little Genesis racer where you're not just trying to cross the finish line first—you're also blasting the other cars to scrap metal. It's got that classic top-down view like Micro Machines, but way more chaotic. First race in, you'll probably slam into a wall while fumbling with the weapon buttons (there's missiles, mines, all the good stuff).

The tracks are tight, the explosions are satisfyingly chunky, and the AI opponents play dirty right from the start. I remember thinking it was just a knockoff racer until someone dropped a oil slick in front of me on the last lap. That's when it clicked—this game wants you to fight as much as drive.

It's janky in that very 90s way, but there's something fun about the sheer messiness of it all.
