Chuck Rock is one of those weird, charming Genesis platformers that somehow makes cavemen and dinosaurs feel like a Saturday morning cartoon. You play as this big, dopey-looking guy who has to rescue his wife from Gary Gritter (who, let’s be honest, looks like a caveman who skipped leg day).
The gameplay’s simple but satisfying—you jump, belly-flop on enemies, and occasionally chuck rocks (hence the name). The levels are full of little details, like pterodactyls swooping in or lava pits that’ll toast you if you’re not careful. And yeah, the music’s weirdly catchy—you’ll hum it for days.
It’s not the hardest game out there, but it’s got this goofy energy that makes it hard to put down. If you’re into retro platformers with personality, this one’s a solid pick.
