The game arrived when every company seemed to have a character vying for Sonic's throne, and Chester was Cheetos' attempt to join the fray. It had that early 90s vibe, colorful and straightforward, aiming for a younger crowd with its licensed charm.

You control Chester Cheetah himself, running and jumping through side scrolling levels. The main goal is to rescue your friend, a little cheetah cub, from the clutches of the evil scientist Dreadly. You move screen by screen, navigating platforms and avoiding enemies like bees and rolling barrels. Two mechanics stand out: you can collect bags of Cheetos to restore health, and you find special sneakers that let you perform a high jump to reach otherwise inaccessible areas. The pacing is quick, but the difficulty can spike unexpectedly with some tricky enemy placements. Playing it feels like a brisk, slightly janky dash through a commercial from my childhood.
