Chester Cheetah: Wild Wild Quest came out for the Sega Genesis, also known as the Mega Drive, in 1993. It was published by Kaneko and arrived during a time when the 16-bit console was full of mascot platformers trying to capture some of Sonic the Hedgehog's energy. This game was their attempt to turn the Cheetos mascot into a video game hero.

You control Chester Cheetah through a series of side-scrolling levels set in a cartoon western landscape. Your main goal is to rescue your band members who have been kidnapped, which involves navigating through different themed worlds. The gameplay involves standard running and jumping, but Chester has a few signature moves; he can perform a sliding attack to take out enemies and use a pogo-stick style bounce on his own tail for extra height. You collect bags of Cheetos scattered throughout the stages, and the levels are often large, requiring some exploration to find all the items and the exit. The pacing is generally fast, though some sections can be tricky with precise platforming over bottomless pits. It feels like a straightforward, slightly slippery platformer from that era, where memorizing the level layout is part of the challenge.
