Chaos Engine 2, The (europe) (proto) Game

Chaos Engine 2 was supposed to be the sequel to the cult-classic top-down shooter, but it never got a full release—this is just a prototype. Still, if you're into retro gaming curiosities, it's a weird little time capsule. You get the same gritty steampunk vibe as the first game, with those chunky pixel-art mercenaries blasting through hordes of mechanical monsters.
Controls feel a bit stiff compared to the original, and some of the enemy spawns are clearly unfinished (you’ll see the same bots teleporting in awkwardly). But there’s something cool about playing a "what if?" version of a game that never was. The second stage has this eerie, half-built look—like the devs just gave up halfway through decorating.
If you loved the first Chaos Engine, this proto is worth a quick look, but don’t expect a polished experience. It’s more of a museum piece than a hidden gem.
