About Championship Pro-am
Championship Pro-Am came out for the Sega Genesis in 1992, developed by Rare. It was part of that early wave of games that tried to bring a more polished, console specific feel to the arcade racing genre on home systems.
You control a single, small radio controlled car from an overhead perspective, racing against computer opponents on winding tracks. The main goal is straightforward: finish first. The signature mechanics involve collecting power ups scattered on the course, like oil slicks and missiles to hinder your rivals, while also managing your car's damage from collisions. The game moves at a quick pace, and the difficulty ramps up noticeably as you progress through the championships. It feels like a tense, chaotic scramble where a single mistake can cost you the lead.
