Championship Pro-Am on the Genesis is one of those racers that looks simple at first—just a top-down view, some basic cars—but man, does it get intense fast. You start off picking between a few different rides (I always went with the blue one, no idea why), and then you're immediately thrown into these tight, obstacle-filled tracks where every turn feels like a tiny victory.
The AI drivers don’t mess around—they’ll shove you into walls if you let them, and the later courses get seriously mean with oil slicks and sudden hairpins. But nailing a perfect drift around a corner or barely squeezing past two rivals feels so good. It’s got that old-school arcade vibe where you’ll restart a race five times just to shave off half a second.
Honestly, it’s one of those games where you boot it up for "just one race" and suddenly an hour’s gone by. The music’s got that classic Genesis crunch too, all squealing guitars and synth beats. If you’ve got a soft spot for 90s racing games, this one’s a blast.
