Captain America and the Avengers on the Sega Genesis is one of those classic beat 'em ups that feels like it was ripped straight from the arcade—because, well, it was. You pick from Cap, Iron Man, Hawkeye, or Vision (weirdly no Thor?), then punch, kick, and special-attack your way through waves of robots and goons. The sprites are chunky, the voice clips are hilariously compressed ("AVENGERS ASSEMBLE!" sounds like it's coming through a tin can), and the side-scrolling action holds up surprisingly well if you're into that old-school vibe.
It's not the deepest fighter—you'll mostly just mash buttons until everything stops moving—but there's something satisfying about teaming up with a friend to wreck Red Skull's plans. Just don't expect a masterpiece; the hit detection can be janky, and some levels drag. Still, if you grew up with this or just love cheesy 90s superhero games, it's a solid nostalgia trip.
