Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 - Defiance on the DS is… well, it’s a weird little thing. You get the COD name, but obviously, it’s not the same as the console versions—smaller maps, simpler controls, but still that same run-and-gun feel. The missions are bite-sized, which works for handheld play, though some of the AI can be janky as hell.
You start off in a war-torn city, popping off shots with the touchscreen aiming (which takes some getting used to). The campaign’s short, but there’s a survival mode that’s honestly more fun—just you vs. waves of enemies, scrambling for better guns between rounds. Not gonna lie, the graphics are rough by today’s standards, but if you’re stuck on a long trip and need some quick FPS action, it does the job.
Just don’t expect it to replace the real thing.
