Call of Duty: Black Ops on the DS is... well, it’s definitely a handheld FPS. You’ve got the usual Black Ops vibe—Cold War-era missions, guns that kick harder than they should on this tiny screen, and that classic COD urgency in the campaign. The controls take some getting used to (stylus aiming feels weird at first), but once you adjust, it’s surprisingly solid for a DS shooter.
You’ll storm through jungles, sneak around Soviet bases, and occasionally panic when enemies swarm you from all sides. The graphics are about what you’d expect—blocky, but they get the job done. Multiplayer’s stripped down compared to the console versions, but hey, it’s still a blast to sneak in a quick match between classes. Just don’t expect it to replace your console COD fix.
