Man, this game takes me back. You fire it up, pick the Bulls or Lakers (or one of the other classic 90s teams), and bam—you're immediately thrown into that chunky, pixelated court with the unmistakable Sega Genesis soundtrack pumping in the background. The players move a little stiff by today's standards, but there's something satisfying about how weighty the dunks feel, especially when you pull off a fast break with Jordan or Magic.
It's not the deepest basketball sim—no fancy plays or detailed stats here—but the arcade-style gameplay holds up. You'll miss a few shots at first until you get the timing down, and the AI can be brutal on higher difficulties. Still, there's a weird charm in how simple and direct it is. Just pick a team, run up and down the court, and try not to get your layups blocked every time.
If you grew up with this era of sports games, it's pure nostalgia. If not, it's a fun little time capsule of how basketball games used to be. Either way, don't expect NBA 2K—just enjoy the retro chaos.
