Bubsy in Claws Encounters of the Furred Kind came out for the Sega Genesis in 1993, published by Accolade. It was part of that wave of early 90s platformers trying to capture some of the same energy as the big hits on the system. You play as Bubsy, a wisecracking bobcat, in a game that feels very much of its time.

You control Bubsy through side scrolling levels, running and jumping across platforms. The main goal is simply to get from the start of the stage to the end, navigating past enemies and obstacles. His signature move is a glide, performed by jumping and then pressing the button again, which lets you float gently over large gaps. The other big mechanic is collecting thousands of yarn balls scattered everywhere; they serve as your points and lives. The pacing is fast, almost frantic, and the difficulty comes from the sheer number of enemies and the fact that Bubsy dies from a single hit. Playing it feels like a constant, hectic scramble from one end of the level to the other.
