Bubba’n’stix – A Strategy Adventure Game

Bubba'n'Stix is one of those weirdly charming Genesis games that somehow makes a redneck and his sentient stick feel like the perfect duo. You control Bubba while Stix—basically a magical twig—floats around doing most of the heavy lifting, like flipping switches or whacking enemies. The first few levels ease you in, but pretty soon you're solving puzzles where timing and positioning matter way more than reflexes.
The art style has that early '90s cartoon vibe, all bright colors and exaggerated characters, and the music sticks in your head way longer than it should. Some of the later puzzles get surprisingly tricky—there’s one with conveyor belts and falling platforms that took me way too many tries—but it never feels unfair. If you like games where you actually have to stop and think instead of just mashing buttons, this one’s a solid pick. Just don’t be surprised when you catch yourself muttering, "C’mon, Stix, do the thing!" at your screen.
