Brutal: Paws of Fury is one of those weird, forgotten Sega Genesis fighters where all the characters are animals—like, a kangaroo that kicks you to death or a wolf with a sword. It plays like a Street Fighter clone, but with fur. The controls are stiff compared to the big names, but there's something charming about how ridiculous it is.
You pick your fighter, mash some buttons, and hope for the best. The kangaroo’s spinning kick is kinda broken if you spam it, but good luck landing it consistently. The backgrounds are surprisingly detailed for a budget fighter, though—one stage has a volcano erupting in the distance while you punch a tiger in the face.
Not gonna lie, it’s janky, but if you’re into obscure 90s fighting games, it’s a weird little time capsule.
