Blue Almanac is one of those weird, obscure RPGs from the early '90s that never made it outside Japan—and honestly, you can kinda see why. The game itself has this odd mix of sci-fi and fantasy, with mechs and magic somehow coexisting, but the real story is the botched English translation attempt. Someone actually tried to localize it as Star Odyssey, but the script was so hilariously broken that no publisher would take it. Shame, because the pixel art has this grungy charm, and the combat’s not half bad once you figure out the menus.
If you’re into retro curiosities, it’s a neat time capsule—just don’t expect a hidden masterpiece.
