I first played Beyond Oasis when it came out for the Sega Genesis in 1994. It was developed and published by Sega, arriving at a time when the console was full of action adventures trying to capture that top down exploration feel. It always stood out to me for its look and how it controlled.

You control a young hero named Ali, exploring the world screen by screen to stop an ancient evil. Your main goal is to find the four elemental spirits sealed in different dungeons. The combat is straightforward; you use a sword for close attacks and a bow for enemies at a distance. A key mechanic is summoning the spirits you collect, like a fire genie that burns obstacles or a water creature that heals you. The pacing is brisk, with puzzles and combat mixed together, though some later dungeons can be tricky. Playing it feels like a smooth, focused adventure where your actions have immediate and satisfying results.
