Beauty and the Beast: Roar of the Beast is one of those weird Sega Genesis tie-ins where you’d expect to play as Belle, but nope—you’re the Beast this time. And no, it’s not a sequel to the other Beauty and the Beast game (they came out the same year, because '90s logic).

You start off stomping around the gloomy castle, smashing stuff with claws and brute force while the enchanted furniture tries to keep up. The controls feel a little stiff, like the Beast’s still getting used to his own limbs, but there’s something satisfying about wrecking everything in your path. The backgrounds are surprisingly moody for a Disney game—lots of shadows and flickering candles.

It’s not exactly a deep platformer, but if you ever wanted to see what the Beast’s tantrums look like in 16-bit form, here’s your chance.
