So, Beauty and the Beast - Belle's Quest for the Sega Genesis is... well, it's exactly what it sounds like. You play as Belle, running through levels that loosely follow the movie’s story—except instead of reading books and singing with teapots, you’re mostly jumping over rats and dodging birds. It’s one of those early Disney platformers where the challenge comes from awkward hitboxes and weirdly timed obstacles.
You’ll recognize some characters from the film popping up between stages, but the actual gameplay is pretty basic—hold right, press jump, repeat. The music tries its best to be charming, though, and if you’re a die-hard fan of the movie, there’s something weirdly nostalgic about seeing pixelated Belle in her blue dress. Just don’t expect anything groundbreaking.
Honestly, it’s the kind of game you play once for the novelty and then forget about.
