Play Battle Master Online

Battle Master came out for the Sega Genesis in 1991, published by Mirrorsoft. It was part of that wave of early 90s console games trying to translate the feel of tabletop dungeon crawling to a home screen. You got a lot of fantasy games back then, but this one had a specific, almost board game-like structure that set it apart from the more action-oriented titles on the system.

You control a party of adventurers, moving them room by room through a dungeon. The main goal is to fight your way to the end and defeat the evil wizard. Combat is turn-based; you choose attacks or spells for your characters, then watch the results play out. Exploration is methodical, clearing one screen before moving to the next, and you collect keys and items to progress. The game can be quite difficult, demanding careful management of your party's health and resources. It feels like a deliberate, tactical puzzle where every encounter matters.
