Batman: The Brave and the Bold on DS is basically a love letter to the old-school cartoon—bright colors, cheesy one-liners, and team-ups with DC heroes like Blue Beetle and Aquaman. You’re punching goons through side-scrolling levels that feel straight out of a Saturday morning episode, complete with weirdly specific gadgets (bat-shark repellent, obviously).
Combat’s simple but satisfying—tap attacks, counters, and the occasional team-up move where Green Arrow shoots an arrow so Batman can kick off it. Some of the platforming bits drag a bit, but the charm’s in the little details, like Plastic Man stretching into a ladder or Batman deadpanning through ridiculous situations. Not the deepest brawler, but perfect for short bursts of superhero nonsense.
If you ever wanted to see Batman and Guy Gardner argue mid-fight, this is your game.
