Bahamut Senki (chinese) Game

Bahamut Senki is one of those Genesis RPGs that flew under the radar back in the day—probably because it never left Japan officially. The Chinese version makes it a bit more accessible, though you’ll still be squinting at menus if you don’t know the language.
Right off the bat, you’re thrown into this fantasy world where you recruit warriors, mages, and even dragons (yes, actual dragons) to fight in grid-based battles. The sprites are chunky in that classic 16-bit way, and the music has that unmistakable early '90s synth-RPG vibe. Combat’s slower than something like Shining Force, but there’s a weird charm to positioning your units just right and watching them clash.
Fair warning: it’s grindy, and the translation’s rough if you’re not fluent. But if you’ve got patience for retro quirks, there’s something oddly satisfying about building a ragtag army and steamrolling enemy formations. Just don’t expect a modern QoL overhaul.
