Alright, so Back to the Future Part III on the Sega Genesis is... well, it’s exactly what you’d expect from a 16-bit movie tie-in. You hop into the DeLorean (which, let’s be honest, looks more like a boxy spaceship here) and land in the Wild West, where Marty’s gotta dodge bandits, jump saloon roofs, and—for some reason—collect clocks to keep the timeline intact.
The platforming’s a bit stiff, and the controls take some getting used to—like, why does punching feel like you’re swinging through molasses? But there’s something weirdly charming about seeing pixel Doc Brown freak out over steam engines while Biff’s gang chases you on horseback. The music’s a banger too, all twangy guitars and synth beats that somehow work.
It’s not gonna win any awards for depth, but if you grew up with the movies, there’s a dumb joy in reliving the chaos. Just don’t expect it to hold up like the films did.
