Baby's Day Out (Proto) is an unreleased Sega Genesis game, a near complete build that never saw an official launch. It was developed by Hi Tech Expressions, a company known for various licensed titles during the 16-bit era. In the game, you control a guardian angel tasked with protecting the baby from a persistent robber. Your main objective is to guide the infant safely through a series of suburban and urban environments, keeping him out of the villain's clutches. The gameplay involves screen by screen exploration, where you interact with objects in the environment to create distractions or clear a path for the baby. You also have a limited ability to directly influence the robber, perhaps by dropping items on him. The pacing is methodical, focusing on puzzle solving over action, and the difficulty can be unforgiving if you misjudge a situation. Playing it feels like a careful, sometimes tense, game of cat and mouse where you are responsible for a helpless character's safety.
