Baby's Day Out (proto) (earlier) Game

Ever heard of Baby's Day Out for the Sega Genesis? Yeah, it's one of those weird lost prototypes—basically an unfinished game based on the movie where a baby somehow outsmarts a bunch of bumbling kidnappers. You don’t even play as the baby, though. Instead, you’re this little guardian angel trying to nudge the kid away from danger while some cartoonish thief stumbles around in the background.
It’s janky, obviously—sprites flicker, levels cut off abruptly, and half the mechanics feel like they were barely tested. But there’s something oddly charming about how rough it is. Like, the angel’s movement is weirdly floaty, and the thief’s AI just sort of… gives up sometimes. Definitely more of a curiosity than a hidden gem, but if you’re into obscure gaming history, it’s a fun five-minute dive into what-could’ve-been.
Honestly, I’m just surprised this even exists in playable form.
