About B.o.b. (usa, Europe)
B.O.B. came out for the Sega Genesis in 1993, developed by Gray Matter and published by Electronic Arts. It was part of that wave of action platformers that filled the 16-bit libraries, a solid entry you might find tucked between the more famous titles.
You control B.O.B., a wisecracking robot, navigating a series of side-scrolling levels. Your main goal is to find parts for your wrecked spaceship, which sends you through industrial complexes, alien caves, and other hazardous environments. Your primary tool is your arm cannon, which you use to blast a variety of enemies; you can also find power-ups that change your shot to lasers or spread patterns. The game is built on exploration, requiring you to find keys to open doors and hunt for hidden items to progress. The pacing is fast, and the difficulty can be unforgiving, with precise jumping and quick shooting often required to survive. It feels like a frantic scramble through a hostile, mechanically noisy world.
