Alien Storm is one of those classic Sega Genesis games that somehow manages to be both ridiculous and ridiculously fun. You pick from three characters—a cyborg, a flamethrower guy, or this woman with a weird energy whip—and just start blasting aliens through streets, malls, and even inside a UFO. The sprites are chunky and colorful, and the aliens explode in the most satisfying way.
What I love is how it switches between side-scrolling shooter sections and these first-person corridor moments where you’re just spraying bullets at anything that moves. It’s pure arcade chaos, the kind where you’ll accidentally punch a vending machine instead of an alien because everything’s moving so fast. The music’s got that classic Sega synth sound too—you’ll be humming it for days.
It’s not deep, but it doesn’t need to be. You’ll finish it in an hour, then immediately want to play again with a different character. That’s the charm of it.
