Advanced Daisenryaku – Deutsch Dengeki Sakusen is one of those deep-cut Sega Genesis strategy games that doesn’t get talked about enough. At first glance, it looks like just another war sim, but give it 10 minutes and you’ll realize how much is actually going on under the hood.
You start by picking a side—Germans or Allies—and suddenly you’re juggling unit production, terrain advantages, and supply lines. The maps are huge, and battles play out in this weirdly satisfying turn-based rhythm where positioning matters way more than brute force. I remember losing an entire armored division because I got cocky and pushed too far without backup.
It’s definitely not for everyone—the menus are dense, and there’s zero hand-holding—but if you’re into slow-burn tactical games where one wrong move ruins everything, this one’s a blast. Just don’t expect flashy animations or easy wins.
