About Addams Family, The (usa, Europe)
I remember picking up The Addams Family for the Sega Genesis back in 1992. It was published by Ocean Software, and it felt like a solid part of that era's lineup of movie tie-in platformers. The game didn't try to reinvent the wheel, but it had a certain charm that fit right in with the console's library at the time.
You play as Gomez Addams, moving screen by screen through the family mansion and its grounds. Your main goal is to rescue each family member who has been trapped by the greedy lawyer Tully Alford. You spend your time jumping across platforms, bouncing on armchairs and other furniture, and collecting power-ups like a temporary invincibility star. The exploration is methodical, and some of the platforming can be quite precise, making it a game that requires a bit of patience. Navigating the mansion's many rooms and hazards gives the whole experience a deliberate, exploratory pace.
