Okay, so 007 Shitou - The Duel is one of those early '90s Bond games that feels like a mix of Contra and a Saturday morning cartoon version of 007. You’ve got your pistol, some stiff-but-charming sprite work, and levels where you basically run and gun through enemy bases—classic stuff.
Each stage plays out the same: shoot generic henchmen (who somehow never run out of guys in identical suits), find the hostage (always a woman, because of course), then plant a bomb to blow the place sky-high. The controls are a little clunky by today’s standards, but there’s something weirdly satisfying about the simplicity. No gadgets, no stealth—just Bond walking in like he owns the place and unloading bullets.
The PAL box art hypes it up with "fast and furious action," which… sure, if you ignore the occasional slowdown when too many explosions happen. Still, it’s got that weird early Sega Genesis charm—like someone took a Bond movie, stripped out the plot, and turned it into an arcade shooter. If you’re into retro games with a side of cheese, this one’s a fun little time capsule.
